Fashion in Film: Rush

Hello all!

So I realised I said I would do 7 fashion in film posts and I only did 5 so here is the second to last one! (Sorry)

This post is about a film I COULDN'T wait to see: Rush. There are easily two reasons that I wanted to see this movie:
1. It is about Formula 1, only my favourite sport and one of my loves.
2. It has clothes designed by Gucci

So this is already a pretty good combo, then throw into the mix the cast. Wow. Chris Hemsworth is perfect for playing the legendary James Hunt, they look enough alike too!

But the best casting of all is Olivia Wilde as Suzy Miller, James' first wife. She is truly stunning all of the time, let alone as the model that married the playboy racer, leaving him to marry Richard Burton after he had left Elizabeth Taylor. She carries the role excellently and gets some of the best clothes I have ever seen, oh and a stellar necklace.

So the film charts a friendship that was played out as a rivalry, which is interesting as you see how the pair become so important to each other, when on the track the goal is for one to defeat the other.

Nicki Lauder sums it up nicely after the infamous crash in the film, when he steps back into the sport that nearly killed him:

"James Hunt: I feel responsible for what happened.
Niki Lauda: Trust me. Watching you win those races while I was fighting for my life, you were equally responsible for getting me back in the car."

This movie will win some awards I hope, as it is genuinely the best film I have seen in a while, more than a film for F1 fans, its a movie for fans of great films.

Sunday night live!

Hello all,

I've had lots of fun this week posting every day. I have been crazy busy today and am about to go to sleep but I knew this was an important post so I am awake!

For the final post this week I thought I would post a quote from someone I admire greatly - the late Alexander McQueen  I wish I could wear the tartan dress that SJP wore at the Met Ball this season. The man was always a forward thinker.

"You've got to know the rules to break them. That's what I'm here for. To demolish the rules but keep the tradition."

All the best,
Luv,
