Christmas time!!

First, ok I'm sorry. Again.

I've been really busy. Seriously, life = hectic. But it is Christmas and I have time off to relax. YAY!

So I am going to be back blogging more regularly than I have been, I promise. It's going to be a New Years resloution.

But anyway hello everyone, happy holidays!!!

I have a few holiday traditions. This year I got to dress our tree, all by myself, it was a bit of a mission but it is worth it, to see it sparkling in the corner of our frontroom. All of the decorations are amazing, some of them are from when my mum was little and some I made when I was younger. It really is a celebration of our family.

Also my mum paints my nails sparkly red every year (thank you mummy!). However the colour I chose looked great when my mum wore it but by the time it was painted it on my nails it had gone old. So to rescue it mum painted the Barry M nail varnish in shade 150, red glitter, over the top and it saved the day.

Clothes wise, over the holidays my boots become my best friends and I wear them with my various jeans and jumpers if I go out in the cold, however if it is an occasion I have a new pair of gorgeous black heels that I shall wear and party in! I love them, they are just so sparkly!

I also cannot wait to hit the sales, I need more going out attire, it's one of the best bits about the holiday season! Lush also have a really good sale after Christmas!

Finally I am on a mission to be reading a lot more this new year, and I will do some book reviews on this blog if you would like! Every Christmas Eve I read The Night Before Christmas before I go to bed, I can nearly recite it, I am still a child at heart!

So I am now listening to Artpop while finishing this post! Then I will prepare for Christmas Day to come along - it's only 2 hours away!

Ahh! I'm really excited! I'm such a child but there is something about Christmas that makes everyone joyful! (unless you're a Scrooge but I can't help that)

So Merry Christmas everyone, have a lovely time wherever you are across the world!

Luv with tidings of joy,

Back to Blogging

Hello everyone,

I always seem to start a post with an apology recently. I'm sorry for not blogging in ages, my life went from fine level of busy to manic in a few weeks and it is safe to say I couldn't really find the time to focus and blog. BUT I have been keeping my eyes out in the fashion-sphere so that now I am faced with my long tube journey to West London I am able to write this post! YAY!

First, where has all the colour gone. :( . I know it's winter and nights start at 5pm now but come on! All I do all week is wear black, I don't then want to wear it all weekend too! But the high street is full of it! Tartan has taken a dull tone too!

No I will not give in, obviously I cannot eliminate black from my wardrobe (one of my favourite cardigans is black) but I will not simply slip into the darkness! I will combat it with the main weapon at my disposal, my t-shirt collection. It is my main source of colour and it's great; if I think yellow will be good today, I have two options of tee, one in bright and one in a more pastel shade. This is why I love t-shirts, although I am less reckless as I used to be and haven't bought one in a while!

Next up is jewellery, yay! For my regular readers you'll know I am a bit of a magpie. A current trend I am still observing for practicality is the multi-ring trend. I am a lover of a show-stopping ring, it doesn't have to be huge but just really special, however wearing multiple ones seems slightly cluttered and I have seen it done to over-kill. I will keep looking.
(Also a little aside for you Tiffany's fans: the history of Tiffany on the website takes you through some of the most iconic pieces from the jewellery house - check out the site if you want to see them, but it may cause envy, sorry.)

Finally, on the make up front. The one-nail-a-different-colour trend. I am yet to see it done fabulously, apart from maybe in a magazine when it was new. I have seen variants that are just too random, I understand the trend calls for clashing but I think that sticking within the same colour tone/ shade would be easier on the eye. Or just have a lovely manicure of one colour? I may still be a bit cynical so I will look for ones I like and post them for you next time.

Anyway, I promise to be back again soon!

Thank you to all of you for reading and clicking like on Facebook! If you want to see something on this blog then just drop a comment below or on one of this pages social networks and I will reply asap!

The wonderful world of fashion...

Hello everyone,

So I have been running around college all week and boy am I tired, I also saw Bruno Mars with his Moonshine Jungle Tour this week and am busy all weekend. On Monday it will be hard to wake up.

But today I am awake watching the qualifying of the Japanese GP and have been flicking through the recent fashion shows for next season. It is hard watching Spring/Summer as the long winter creeps into the UK.

  • Firstly, it was announced that Marc Jacobs is leaving Louis Vuitton and so the fashion show this season was tinged with sadness, he still put on a fabulous show, only increasing the punk trend.
  • Secondly, as always I loved Chanel I didn't think they could actually make me love them more! But that show, wow, the colour palette, the jacket styles and some of the handbags!
  • Thirdly, Dolce & Gabbana. I love them. The shows are always so beautiful and flower patterns sway me, not to mention the gold encrusted dresses. Wow.
  • Then Burberry Prorsum used my favourite dusty pink colour in some of their outfits, I do hope this colour stays as I love pink!
  • Finally, I can't leave my fashion week review without Oscar de la Renta. I am amazed, not only did they show the most sophisticated approach to patterns with a plain white underneath black and blue prints, but they also created a light yellow dress that I just adored.
  • One side observation, some designers went for the naked look a bit too much for my liking, I can't really imagine even the most devoted followers of fashion walking around with no bra through a sheer shirt.

So that is my review so far, if anything has caught your eye that I've missed then let me know,

Luv as always,

Fashion Update!

Hello everyone,

I've been a bit silent recently and I can only apologise but my final year of college is really starting with a mad rush, although I am surviving. Oh and I've been suffering with my seasonal cold :(

So this is my list of autumnal faves now I think all the summer weather has gone :(

  1. Boots! Give a girl the right pair and Marilyn you were right, she can conquer the world! This season boots are the staple, mine are a roughed up biker style, as I still love militarian for A/W and also they toughen up any girly look which makes the style your own. But there is something to be said for the more elegant boot.
  2. Jumpers! The weather is changeable and it's always good to keep warm (or you'll just be freezing). I just bought a blue one from Debenhams and it's beautiful! I cannot wait to wear it with my jeans and new black pumps!
  3. Lush, wonderful Lush! I bought four things this time. First, the new Rose Jam shower gel which smells like crushed rose petals, I love it! Second and third are two bath ballistics one called Twilight and one called Lord of Misrule (Halloween limited edition) they both smell heavenly! And finally the ever present Sunnyside, although with a new shine in the form of lustre and not glitter! (Yay for us glitter-phobs!).
  4. My jeans! Yes I've worn them all year but when it gets to winter they just go with everything and are really comfy! I love them! My favourite pair are from Mantaray at Debenhams!
  5. Sparkly eyeshadow! Ok it's technically not clothes but you do WEAR make up lol! Anyway I love sparkly eyeshadow and am currently wearing my sparkly gold Bobbi Brown one in shade Moonstone! It stays on FOREVER (well until you take it off) but I recommend it highly!
  6. The Holiday and Love Actually! My winter movie bug is kicking in hehe! I will also watch The Seven Year Itch when I get in I can't wait!
  7. Finally, Strictly Come Dancing! For me and my mum (Hi mum!) SCD is a staple show during A/W! We always watch all the dresses but we have our favourite celebs that we cheer on. At the end of the season I will do a review of all the best dresses and pairings but for now it's too early to tell!
So that's my (awkwardly) top 7 faves at the moment.

Speak to you all soon, comment below, on the Facebook page or tweet me to say hi if you want!

Fashion in Film: Rush

Hello all!

So I realised I said I would do 7 fashion in film posts and I only did 5 so here is the second to last one! (Sorry)

This post is about a film I COULDN'T wait to see: Rush. There are easily two reasons that I wanted to see this movie:
1. It is about Formula 1, only my favourite sport and one of my loves.
2. It has clothes designed by Gucci

So this is already a pretty good combo, then throw into the mix the cast. Wow. Chris Hemsworth is perfect for playing the legendary James Hunt, they look enough alike too!

But the best casting of all is Olivia Wilde as Suzy Miller, James' first wife. She is truly stunning all of the time, let alone as the model that married the playboy racer, leaving him to marry Richard Burton after he had left Elizabeth Taylor. She carries the role excellently and gets some of the best clothes I have ever seen, oh and a stellar necklace.

So the film charts a friendship that was played out as a rivalry, which is interesting as you see how the pair become so important to each other, when on the track the goal is for one to defeat the other.

Nicki Lauder sums it up nicely after the infamous crash in the film, when he steps back into the sport that nearly killed him:

"James Hunt: I feel responsible for what happened.
Niki Lauda: Trust me. Watching you win those races while I was fighting for my life, you were equally responsible for getting me back in the car."

This movie will win some awards I hope, as it is genuinely the best film I have seen in a while, more than a film for F1 fans, its a movie for fans of great films.

Sunday night live!

Hello all,

I've had lots of fun this week posting every day. I have been crazy busy today and am about to go to sleep but I knew this was an important post so I am awake!

For the final post this week I thought I would post a quote from someone I admire greatly - the late Alexander McQueen  I wish I could wear the tartan dress that SJP wore at the Met Ball this season. The man was always a forward thinker.

"You've got to know the rules to break them. That's what I'm here for. To demolish the rules but keep the tradition."

All the best,

Fashion in Film - Oceans' 11,12,13...

Hey guys,

So I usually write about fashion centred around women but I hope there are men out there that have come across my blog and maybe read a few lines but haven't felt like I've aimed at post at you... until now. This post is about the gorgeous men in the Oceans' films and how to dress like them and ladies there may also be some tips if you want to dress the men in your life in a similar way.

I chose the Oceans' films as the men wear a wide range of clothes from the Casino smart suits, relaxed casual wear for planning meetings or the luxury cruise wear that comes with the teams multi-million dollar excursions. I love that each of the guys has their own style, be it the slick Clooney dark suit or the luxuriously casual Pitt attire. The movies also show off men of all ages; from fresh - faced Matt Damon to the more refined Carl Reiner, which again forms them into a unique trilogy that I would recommend to anyone.

So here are my top tips for dressing Oceans' style:

- Suits have to be matching and within a colour palette. It seems really simple but it is easy to get it wrong. The image at the top shows the guys matching in an ombré tone which with all 5 is slight overkill, but nonetheless shows how you can take a theme and wear it different ways.

- The next photo shows refined casino wear. Black and dark grey tones are excellent for sophistication yet the glasses with a coloured lense adds character; warning not suitable for all, take a good friend when picking eyewear as it is hard to tell what looks good on yourself. Eyewear is another way to carve out a unique style for yourself as each person looks good in their own shape/colour.

- Aviators. Yes please. Men if you can wear them and most of you can, please do, they are very attractive. If you are feeling adventurous then you can also rock the Ray-Ban style but the same rules for glasses apply, don't go buying them by yourself and get a colour that suits EVERYTHING you'll wear them with! (i.e. black or dark blue)

- Finally, Trousers/Jeans. None of the men in Oceans' wear baggy trousers. Right now that's been said; trousers again must match the suit, but overly skinny jeans or trousers are intimidating as it can make you look vacuum packed. Try trousers on, sit in them and walk around in them! They have to look good in all positions!

So remember gents, look polished and dress for your age. I expect to see a remake of the oceans films with eleven equally attractive men and you could be one of them!

Lots of luv,

False Eyelashes, really scary!

Hello everyone,

Today's post is about false eyelashes, and how scary most people make them look!

I love the idea in principle, making your eyelashes look fuller and without clumps is brilliant! But the whole blocks of black plastic hair that are stuck with glue seeping from the corners of the wearers eyes, that look like fans wafting and hitting your eyebrows is just a bit strange.

The best bit is that fashion created these for nights out and catwalk shows, however the amount of times I have seen people just popping out to the shops in full fake eyelashes and scaring everyone that they see! I think the worst thing is the ridiculous notion that girls think that they look normal wearing them, and with a full orange fake-tan they just look more alien than if they wore no make up and were just natural.

So ladies, if you want to wear false eyelashes then please consult a friend or, if you are lucky, make up artist to help you put them on. But the most important thing is that you pick eyelashes that suit you! Do not go for full sets if you only need a few individual ones, but seriously a good mascara and curlers will fix most situations and should be tried first if you haven't already.

So I am really tired and am off to bed, been working all week!

Lots of luv,

Fluff Cat Friday!

Hey all,

So today has been manic, and I'm shattered. The combo means this post is in under the wire, sorry.

I wanted to start a new feature which will include a picture of my beloved cat Woozle, who at four years younger than me, wears her age well lol!

I know this is not really fashion related but it gives me the chance to put my musings down along with it. Today I will include a poem I wrote, called "LOVE":

"LOVE"

Austen wrote many a tale,
and the Bronte three,
of love and true heroism,
and the beauty of chivalry.

Darcy was a solitary man,
who had the love of she,
but when his cold exterior did thaw,
he found his wife to be.

Yet even those to whom love is fate,
and will forever see,
will have their troubles true of heart,
before love sets them free.

The words I write aim to please,
my ever wandering soul,
for I am in another world,
and yet I have been told,
the world is out there for me to seek,
unlimited lies in front of me.

At this moment, in my dream,
I am as steadfast as a tree.

Love has always appeared in my life,
over the centuries it remains,
it takes its time to reach full bloom,
and on its way causes many pains
 -
But despite this side affect,
we take the good with the bad,
for the chance you take to fall in love,
is worth the twang of sad.

Luv you all,

Things I am excited about!

Hello again,

So this post is a bit on a whim, as I am on my way to work and I have some time to make today's post so I will!

I have decided to write my Top 4 things I am excited about that are coming up in my life (most are fashion based).

1. I cannot wait to buy my yellow jacket from Boden, after successfully buying a dress from them a week ago, with my first ever pay check, I'm going to splurge. Well I am worth it lol!

2. Like most fashion bloggers and those in the industry I am particularly excited about the R-Patz with Dior commercials that are soon to be released. The arty trailers and stills are teasing us until the real thing comes. He is so hot!

3. I want to get a kilt for A/W but I am waiting for the perfect one. My late great-grandad was Scottish so it seems only fitting that I get one. It needs to be bright red tartan and the ideal length, I will keep looking.

4. I am looking forward to going back to college. It is my last year before I can leave education and start the next phase of my life. I will eventually go to university but I have been given the opportunity to take a gap year before I apply and have decided that its the best option for myself. However I have a year to plan it, I will travel and get some work experience, basically make the most of it that I can!

So that's what I've got to look forward too! Woohoo!

Hope you are all well! Comment or like this post if you want! It would be nice to hear from you all!

Luv you all,

I'm with the band...

Rock on everyone,

So I am actually a big music fan of diverse taste which not many people know. My first concert was The Darkness playing in the old Wembley Arena, they were supported by Ash which was incredible, I was 7 or something and Justin (the leader singer) found out the security alarms were going off in his house but instead of calling off the show he simply said "it must go on!" (Maybe with a few more swear words lol!).

To put it plainly, that night, fuelled by my mums endless playing of her favourite music; bands such as Bon Jovi, The Black Crowes, Fleetwood Mac etc., began a love that would lead to me having the most diverse iPod of anyone I know. I can have the Jonas Brothers next to Nirvana on a shuffle!

This music taste has heavily influenced my dress sense, but my favourite part is the T-shirt. I am addicted to buying them, not just band ones but them in general. However, my collection is well stocked with tees that express my love of music! One of my faves is my mums home-made Black Crowes tee that is tie-dye (see below).

Back in time, band t-shirts were a guy or girls way to say "I am with this band, loyal and dedicated, a fan and a follower" but with the recent trends in fashion on the high street to bring album art and logos to the masses, this loyalty has been replaced with "I liked the look of the logo so I bought the top, I actually have never listened to the band." Me and my friends have often had discussions where we have asked people if they love the band/album as much as we do, to hear back that they don't even know who they are. It's frustrating as a music fan to hear that.

It used to be that tees were the way to spot fellow fans and connected people with common interests. Now it is not that easy, as I have discovered, but I guess we all have access to social networks to keep in touch with fellow fans and the humble t-shirt has lost is place in most modern fandoms. However, I know that they will not be going anywhere soon, especially not in my world as my collection will not stop growing, I still have some that I would love to get!

This is my most recent one bought at The 02 on 23rd March 2013:

^Front^

^Back^

Here are some I would love to get:
(Buy from 21 Century Clothing @ amazon.co.uk, £14.99)

(Buy from the AC/DC store @ acdc.fanfire.com, £12.95)

(Buy from amazon.co.uk, £14.99)

I will leave you with some wise words from another true rock god:

Haul!!

Hello everyone!

So as I mentioned before I have been shopping a lot! This is a kinda continuation from the last post except everything I have bought is from the UK so I guess it's a home haul lol!

  • I went to the River Island sale and bought this tee, jumper and jacket. The t-shirt was just too cool - one problem is the sizing as it said it was a size 8 but it so wasn't, unless it was supposed to be a dress as it was still baggy on me and I am not a size 8 at all! The jacket is fab! I just love it's quirkiness and the jumper, well my name is Amber so it seemed only right that I bought it, if not because it was cool but just for self promotion lol!

  • I also went to Accessorize which is a place I just can't resist and bought this owl bag. I have no place to wear it yet but I don't care! I love it!

  • I have also been buying make up! I bought this MAC palette of eye shadow because it is all the colours I was looking for and because its MAC it will be good quality. (MAC palette in pastellux, £30)

  • I also discovered this shop that I had never been in before called "& other stories" on Regent Street in London. The shop is so cool, it had everything, from posh shampoo (£19 per bottle, ouch), to the cutest hair accessories that my mum bought and clothes, bags and make up! I bought this little eyelash brush for £2 because I find that even with the ultimate mascara (Diorshow waterproof 090 black, £28) sometimes my eyelashes clump too much and I will use it to fan them out. I tested it this morning and it works!

  • I also bought a t-shirt from David & Goliath (£10) which is so cute, I am a bit of a nerd and I have a cat which makes this Mew-bacca tee all the more appropriate.

  • My local supermarket is an ASDA and whilst getting some food I picked up this cute jumper (£16) that is not only dark red which is the colour of the season but it's also so comfy!

So that is my recent haul, I need to stop now or I am going to run out of money and won't be able to go anywhere!!

Luv you all,

LDN Teenage Fashionista xx♥

Holiday! Celebrate!

Hello everyone!

I am sorry I have been so quiet recently, it has been hectic getting back from my holidays, working at a law firm and having large hiccups happening in my life in a period of two weeks. But I am back and pleased to say that I am feeling better!

So I have been shopping so much recently and as I don't want this post to be too long I will separate it into what I bought on holiday and what I have bought in the last few weeks.

Today therefore is the holiday shopping post. I was lucky enough to spend two weeks in the idyllic area of Tolo on the Peloponnese in Greece and the shopping was good. We went by boat to Hydra and Spetses and went by coach into Nafplio as well as getting to enjoy the beautiful surrounding that we had in the town itself. I had huge amounts of fun shopping and everything I bought is beautiful.

So here are the pics of what I bought and where:

Tally Weijl, Nafplio:

^This is a camouflage vest although its folded, it is seriously cool!^

^This is two sides of the same bag, I loved it and it was a till buy, I can't wait to wear it!^

^I have seen these everywhere but I loved this one so much I had to have it!^

Pink Woman, Nafplio:

^I love these, they are so pretty!^

 ^This is just a bit epic!^

(I also bought some pink trousers but they are being washed so are without a pic)

Jasmine, Hydra:

^These are my new holiday trousers, they are so pretty!^

^This is jade, it's beautiful, I wore it non-stop!^

Assorted shops in Tolo and Nafplio:

^This is the perfect handbag for me, I took it to work experience, it was very Legally Blonde lol!^

^These are three necklaces I bought on my travels, one at the top is a gold fairy, one in the middle is a butterfly and the one at the bottom is a white kitten, very much like Woozle!^

So as you can see I was very busy shopping, and I haven't stopped yet. The next post will be called Haul as I guess I have been buying a lot!!

Happy summer to you all!

Luv,

LDN Teenage Fashionista xx♥

N.B. I also got a replacement pair of espadrilles from Hydra which will no doubt feature soon.

Let your wild side out...

Hey guys,

I posted a teaser pic from this post over a week ago and for some unknown reason it has taken me a while to post it. Sorry!!!

Anyway this post features three of my birthday presents; my yellow camouflage scarf, my Marilyn Monroe handbag and my grey leopard tee in my outfit, as well as my beloved snake skin effect sandals from Clarks and my green shorts from New Look. Hence the name for this post is let your wild side out due to its safari style.

This is me in my outfit:

N.B that I am also wearing my mums vintage bangles that you'll see close up below as well as the other accessories,

So when I was dressed, I headed onto Oxford Street to meet my friend Marie for a catch up and a light shop in the summer sales - can you believe you can buy winter jumpers already! It's not even stopped being sunny yet!

Being a light shop I didn't splurge but I did buy this dress from Bershka for £20 which is beautiful and I can't wait to wear it!

So I hope you're all having a good summer wherever you are, thanks to all of you for reading and liking this page, I really love you all!

When I get to Warwick Avenue...

Hey guys,

I am currently on my way to Warwick University (ok it's not Warwick Avenue but thanks Duffy!) and I have the entire back row of the coach to myself! And as I am alone I thought I'd tell you about what I wear when I travel.

Firstly, I love to wear espadrilles and today is no exception, they are so lovely and light while also covering all of my feet so they are protected as well, especially if you are dragging a suitcase as they can hurt! These are my blue ones from Primark and they are fab!

I also took the rather bold decision to wear shorts (shocked face as its unusual for me). They are in the boyfriend style and are so comfy and from New Look and I paired them with a bright pink Gilly Hicks tee!

When going on holiday I take my bright pink suitcase and I have it with me now although it looks like it has been through a small war thanks to the baggage handlers and my loving cat so today I looked like a holiday version of A Study in Pink (hi Sherlock fans!).

Update: I am now in bed at Warwick in my room which is lovely, waking up at 7 will be hard but oh well! I have enjoyed meeting everyone and hi if you are reading this at the conference please message me and say hi!

So I'm gonna sign off and get some sleep at long last,

Luv you all,

Fashion in Film - Confessions of a Shopaholic...

Hey guys,

Firstly a big thank you to all you guys for reading this blog when I post, it means a lot to me and if you want me to write about anything in particular let me know anyway you like, also if you would like to follow me in another way that I currently don't offer, just ask!

So back to this post, I have this and three more fashion in film posts on there way and today's is about the best-selling book turned film, Confessions of a Shopaholic. Although the film is an adaptation of the book, it is actually a really funny, girly film and with the mandatory man candy of Luke, played by the handsome Hugh Dancy, thrown in for good measure. My favourite quote from the film is when Becky, played by Isla Fisher, takes Luke shopping thinking he knows nothing and then is surprised to find that he "speaks Prada" despite an apparent dreadful taste in clothes.

Back to the clothes, well of course Becky herself has many, including some highlights that I will show in the images below, but then of course comes the green scarf. The green scarf is important because it ties Becky to Luke and Becky to giving up her shopping addiction! In actual fact the scarf is very on trend with the jewel green colour that would go with everything!

So here it is to the shopaholics out there,

Speak soon guys,

Luv u all,

Fashion Update!!

Hey guys,

So lots of things have been going on in the fashion world it is so hard to keep up! But I have picked my top 5 from all the stories:

First off things have been going down at Burberry, hot things. New couple on the block Sienna Miller and Tom Sturridge are the brands face for Autumn/Winter 2013 and the shoot was amazing. And super steamy! The photographer was definitely third wheeled as the loved up pair did their thing.

Secondly, it seems that all good things appear from Dior at the moment. I finally got myself a new mascara from the Diorshow range as it is simply the best! (queue the cheesy music) While also I found that they have re-branded my favourite perfume Miss Dior Cherie into simply Miss Dior and I was scared that I wouldn't like the new scent however I am pleased to inform the blogosphere that I loved it just as much as the old one! (It is not that much different tbh, slightly fresher but still fab!)

Thirdly, my new fashion love: my legs! After loosing a bit of weight in the new year I realised just how fab my legs are and subsequently have gone a bit, no a lot summery. Today's purchases are two pairs of shorts and a fab skirt sure to feature in some outfits soon, ahh I love the sun!

Fourthly, sing along now "And it was all yellow!" As with summer comes a colour of the season and this time round it seems that yellow is it. I own three yellow dresses from my not so long ago dress buying addiction and I guess I now have the weather to wear them! Again yay for summer!

Finally, the men behind the label Dolce and Gabbana were sentenced to time in prison in Italy last month for tax evasion! I was shocked to say the least! This story is one of a string recently, where companies or individuals seek to avoid paying tax. Now I know nobody likes to pay it and it seems to not be the easiest thing to do despite living in a modern age, but in times of global recessions etc. I think that evading tax is shady behaviour and I hope that now it's a public interested issue, less of it will happen in the future.

So that's today's fashion update, it took a long time to come as I have just been made a captain of my college and the responsibilities piled up quickly as I had to help plan end of year social events, sorry guys, will be back on form asap as college finishes this week!

Hope you're all enjoying the weather!

Luv,

The Difficult Journey of Love: The Final Poem...

Hey guys,

So this is it. The final chapter of my poetry story "The Difficult Journey of Love", so I have been lucky enough to get to share this with you over a number of weeks and this is the culmination of it.

In this poem, simply titled "..." the couple meet in a park to talk things through after a long emotional ride, the man is once again single but the woman is still with her boyfriend who has the same name as the man, but the man has one last shot so here is:

"..."

You once needed me to be true to you,
I thought I was doing the best could do,
I admit that marrying someone else was rash,
When all said and done,
It was gone in a flash.

You give me this meeting,
Five minutes that's all -
Before you have to answer that call.
Your new one he loves you,
Yet he has my name -
The games that you play are always the same.

I ended it with her,
Please don't cry,
Just tell me your feelings,
And don't ever lie.

You tell me you love me,
You always have,
But was worried I'd cheat,
And act like a cad.

But when you watched
As I gave her my vow,
You knew I had changed -
And you felt like a cow.

Because you wanted to -
Put yourself into her place,
But you gave up that right,
So fled with grace.

This day on a park bench,
Surrounded by tress,
You pulled out a ring,
And got down on one knee.

You looked up to me,
With a tear in your eye,
Oh how I hate to see you cry,
"These are tears of joy"
You delight as you say,
"I'll love you forever, marry me today"
"I'll be loyal and faithful"
I answer in reply,
"Our history is being written -
And our stars in the sky"

I hope you enjoyed it, it felt natural to write,

Luv,

Google Reader Goes!

Hey guys,

Sorry I wasn't more vocal on this but I didn't realise how soon the deadline was. Basically from tomorrow those of you who follow me via Google Friend Connect will loose me as Google Reader shuts down :(

If you look on the left hand sidebar you'll find all the links to follow me in as many ways as possible, and I hope you do, as I hope this feels like a very personal connection between me and you, one that I would hate to loose.

So please if you would like to follow another way do, I have two posts lined up for later today so I hope you will enjoy them!

As I like photos, and I love my cat Woozle, here is something that will combine them both:

The Difficult Journey of Love Part 6: The Last Fight

Hey guys,

So this is the penultimate poem oooh! This one is called "The Last Fight" and well it was very easy to write as although I have never been through love like this I saw this scene play out in my head like a movie. It is the man who is arguing with his current wife before the final poem takes place.

Well it rather speaks for itself:

"The Last Fight"

The break up,
The break apart,
The rows and the screams,
With all that it means.

The end,
Call time,
On this song,
And this rhyme.

We are over,
I'm done,
Come on Hun -
We've had fun.

But our child's not mine,
You've wasted my time,
I'm gone, we are over,
Let the bells chime.

Final part tomorrow, I hope you like it as much as I do.

Luv,

Fashion in Film - Sex and The City

Hey guys,

Ok so this morning it is raining in London - shock! Also I have become a tennis fan, maybe years of my great granddad making me watch it has cultivated a love for it - I'm going to root for Laura Robson, she is so inspirational, and it is nice to have an iconic British player that is female, especially for us fans who don't like Murray.
So I'm writing this on my way to a university conference and my iPod is blasting in my ears, it is psychic and just knows what I want to listen to. But anyway, this post is not about me; it's about four ladies and one very big city.

Sex and The City is one of America's greatest exports. Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte captured women's hearts around the world with their crap boyfriends and intriguing lives that seemed to deal with every problem we all go through. Although it was a very female orientated show I think it gave men an insight into the lives of women and what we go through in a relationship, like giving away secrets of our lives.

The ladies all have such unique styles and I love that they rock their own look, sometimes it's retro and sometimes it is haute couture, whatever it is, its always fabulous.

Sex and The City has taught me many things, from how to shop with unlimited funds and with a custom wardrobe, to how to spend hours with my girlfriends having the funniest times of my life.

Thank you ladies,

Luv,

The Difficult Journey of Love Part 5: Too Late

Hey guys,

A short one from "The Difficult Journey of Love" which is from the man point of view as he tries to move on from his true love, well tries at least.

Here it is:

"Too Late"

I wish that I had told her,
And told her time again,
Then we could grow older,
Me and my best friend.

But now I am with someone else,
Someone that isn't you,
Her beauty really set her free,
And yet she's not the one for me.

You will be forever on my mind,
Across all years, throughout all time,
And then when the time is due,
I'll name my daughter after you.

I hope that you guys have been enjoying this series, I would love to hear what you think.

Hope you've had a good weekend,

She's still Jenny from the Block...

Hey guys,

There are still more Fashion in Film posts to come but for a moment I would love to make a special post to an idol of mine: Jennifer Lopez.

Two days ago J-Lo was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and her speech was so inspirational but she has always been an inspiration to me and maybe the best inspiration for the modern woman in general. To come from the Bronx in NYC to global domination and to still keep her feet on the ground, for me there is no better role model for women. I love that she doesn't just do one thing, she's not just a singer, she's an all consuming tidal wave of talent and kindness. I've never met her, if I ever do I will probably love her more if that's even possible.

I wanted to also give you some of her famous quotes so I guess its a bit of a J-Lo love fest. Did I forget to mention she is beautiful! Oh yeah and she works for humanitarian causes and is a business woman and has two of the cutest children ever. I have to stop typing or I never will so here I present the 2,500th Star on the Walk of Fame but I think the brightest star of them all. JLo.

"Doubt is a killer. You just have to know who you are and what you stand for."

"You can't plan life. There's bad things and its tough. Its hard every day and then something beautiful happens. Then its tough again and you are struggling and then there's a miracle, and that's really what life is. Its not just perfect all the time, but we have those amazing moments that make everything worth it."

Well it is safe to say I identify a lot with her and she is amazing.
Congrats Jenny on your star and thank you for being an icon,

The Difficult Journey of Love Part 4: Closure...

Hey guys,

This is part 4 of 7 so this is heading towards the climax now, I will aim to finish this story by next week. This poem is the woman reeling from watching the man she loves marry someone else and then she tries to find someone else to fill the whole in her heart. Will she be able to do it?

So here it is:

"Closure"

Those two words rung out
And are plastered on my heart
As we are not together,
We must learn to live apart.

I told myself we are over,
And tried to live on,
I'm definitely getting closure,
By writing down this song.

And although my heart is empty,
And you have moved away,
I hope that I will love again,
And this time it will stay.

I met a guy yesterday,
Who had a name like yours,
At first I kept my heart at bay
From running out the doors.

But with every passing minute,
Your image is fading away,
And in your place,
He will always stay.

I hope you like this,

Luv,

Fashion in Film - Clueless...

Hey guys,

So this post comes with helping hand of retro, although this time it's the 90's that influenced my film of today - Clueless.

Clueless, released in 1995, tracks the life of Cher and her friends. One of them being Tai, played by the late Brittany Murphy, who is the new girl looking to Cher to guide her through Beverly Hills life. The film itself is a romantic comedy based upon Emma by Jane Austen but the clothes worn by all the characters are something of legend.

Cher in the film has a wardrobe which is computer generated so she can see what her clothes will look like on herself and then select them that way, which I think is pretty genius and if my wardrobe gets any bigger is something I want.

The matching plaid suits are particularly iconic, the shocking yellow one is quiet a piece of costume genius! Also, the tight, bodycon red dress with a Cher touch of a white feather boa is something that these days would seem avant garde but for her was perfect, centre of attention is Cher's way.

According to GLAMOUR magazine this Clueless look is back in fashion, I'm not sure I'm bold enough to try but I can't wait to see it. I also discovered that the brand WILDFOX has created a Clueless them collection which you can see if you click here, it is cool how similar and in the style of the movie the clothes are and the outfits look super cute.

Hope you are ok, college is making me very tired at the moment!!

Fashion in Film - Breakfast at Tiffany's...

Hey guys,

I have been planning this blog for a long time now and I have been thinking of ways to get my opinions on film and fashion into a reasonable post that do the films justice. So I have decided to a series this on 7 films that range from the old to the new, which have either changed or reflected fashion of the era they represent.

Today's focus is the iconic Breakfast at Tiffany's. Based on the book of the same name by Truman Capote, both it and the film exude glamour and panache, however it was the film and Miss Audrey Hepburn which made a fashion statement.

Audrey, as Miss Holly Golightly created an iconic look that defined an era. The little black dress, strings of pearls, dark glasses and the wide-brimmed hat became a style of its own. Jewels of Tiffany's were desirable beyond compare and everyone wanted to wear silk gloves and clutch a cigarette holder just to emulate one of the most desired look of the sixties.

The reason that I picked this film as the first one on my fashion in film series is because the style keeps re-entering the fashion scene and the workings of the genius' at the costume department under Mr Givenchy not only made an icon of Audrey, but made iconic fashion out of Capote's words.

So lets all cheer for an iconic fashion film, next one coming tomorrow!
Luv as always,

The Difficult Journey of Love Part 3...

Hey guys,

All my exams are over! Yay! I will finish my blog about movies and fashion tonight but for now here is the third part of The Difficult Journey of Love which moves the relationship to a new setting and the woman has taken back the narrative.

So here it is:

"You Always Had My Heart"

Standing at the altar,
I'm forever yours,
This should last forever
But can we ever be sure.

You know all about me,
You always had my heart,
Will this last forever?
Or will we fall apart?

Make your vows,
And take my hand -
You'll be forever true -
You will be my perfect man
And make my dreams come true.

At least for now I hope you'll be,
As I look to you,
As I go to take my vow,
She turns and says,
"I do" ...

I hope you like it guys, part 4 will be posted later this week.

The Difficult Journey of Love Part 2...

Hey guys,

So this is the second episode in my poetry story called The Difficult Journey of Love. This one is the man's reaction to how the woman acts in Shining Rock as I wanted this story to show both sides of love and heartbreak.

So enjoy!

"The Man With The Broken Heart"

I say that I love you,
And am down on one knee.
Please give me your answer
To my hopeful plea.

You look away,
You turn your back,
You don't give an answer,
I'm taken aback.

You seem to be weighing,
The pros and the cons,
If you don't say a word -
You know I'll be gone,

My heart is broken,
You go to say,
But I don't want to hear it,
So I just walk away...

Sunny Sunday musings...

Hey again,

Two posts in one day! Aren't you guys lucky!

So I went shopping with my friend Lucy today and well I bought a lot! The sun is out at last and it is also warm which helps! I'm in a skirt and a vest top which combines like a dress! Also my shoes from Primark which hurt before are now comfortable! Double success!

I will of course take you through what I bought. Basically after my wardrobe tidy I am only buying things I need or at least don't already own one similar!

So I finally got my letterman style jacket from Republic and it's beautiful just the right colour to suit all seasons!

I also went Primark mad. This entailed me getting a new long vest top for the summer, a new straw hat that I couldn't resist, a new pair of pumps, a new swimming costume and a pair of simple navy espadrilles! Phew!

Also I went into Forever 21 and bought a new locket necklace that has the most beautiful owl on it.

I also wanted to show my outfit of the day as it is finally sunny. I will show you my necklace and shoes as you can't see them clearly in the photo.

Well I am going to carry on watching the Monaco Formula 1 race while the sun shines! Hope you guys have a lovely weekend!

Poetry Story: The Difficult Journey of Love...

Hey guys,

I mentioned on Facebook about my poetry story and I have finally finished it so I thought I would post it in instalments.

The story is told in two perspectives; a man and a woman who we meet at the moment that the man is proposing to the woman. This poem is her trying to work out whether she should say yes.

So today is the first of the series enjoy!

"Shining Rock"
A moment in time.
A rock that shines.
Down on one knee,
You looking up at me.

In that cavern,
The vast expanse,
The sun just visible,
Gone in a glance.

I call to the sky,
Tell me what to do,
I look to the floor,
And then back to you.

The memories come flooding back,
The games and the scenes,
fading to black.
I dress up,
They cut me down,
Don't you want someone else around?
Which game will we play today?
You slam the door,
I'll hide away.

I've given you all the chances,
This is your checking move,
Is this battle worth fighting?
Or will I have to lose?

Will we be Monroe and DiMaggio?
Anthony and Cleopatra?
Just another tragic love,
That wasn't meant to be...

Of will I be the only one,
The only one for you,
The shoe that fits,
The house that's right,
Simple, pure and true.

I hope you liked it, next one coming soon...

11 random things about me...

Hey guys,

So I feel bad about the last post being so delayed so I am gonna write this one now after just sitting my physics exam to take my mind off things.

So after my Liebster Blog Award I was thinking that I'd love to answer my questions that I posed to the three blogs I passed it onto. So here are my answers:
    • If you could kiss anyone famous who would it be? Justin Timberlake or Ryan Gosling! Easy!
    • What's your favourite flower? Pink or red roses, simple girl really.
    • How many pairs of shoes do you own? Many, is that an answer, well I'd say around 20.
    • What's your favourite movie quote? "I love the public you, I love the private you and I love the you only I get to see" from the Kate and William movie lol!
    • If you could be on TV what show would you be in? I'd love to be in Hart of Dixie or Gossip Girl anything like that or maybe the female Mike Ross in Suits.
    • What is on the wall next to you right now? Well one side is a window and the other is a picture of a cat that looks like Woozle.
    • What is your favourite season? Summer, I hate being cold and it's my birthday season.
    • Who is the most famous person you have ever met? I met Warwick Davis at comic con, that was cool.
    • What is the best place you've ever visited? Tolo, Greece and I loved it so much I'm going back this year.
    • Do you have any pets? If so what are they and what are their names? A Cat called Woozle who has been featured on this blog!
    • If you could go anywhere in time or space, where would it be or when? I would love to go to the birth of the universe just so I would know how it all began, or maybe I would go to Paris to meet Coco Chanel and Christian Dior.
That concludes the 11 random things about me, I will do this once a month as a feature and get you guys to message me questions to answer!

You did go to the ball but what did you wear Cinderella?

    Hey guys,

So this week was the ever famous Met Ball which this year wanted those lucky enough to be given invites to dress "Punk" in an ode to the new exhibition - well this week provided me with the time to reflect on who wore what and my conclusions I will write down now.

I feel I should start with my idea of punk and the image I get takes the form of my mum when she was younger. Now I have been informed that fish nets and hair dye were the order of the time and that was punk being tame!

So how did the social elite dress for it? Well it was more ball less punk, which I don't think is very sporting as its like going to a fancy dress party not in fancy dress!

I like top 5's but I have to include in one section two women so I guess it is a top 6 in reality:

    • Julianna Hough looked amazing in a custom Topshop dress and her hair was also bang on punk, I love the ripped bottom to the dress and her edgy heels just make the look!
    • Next to be bestowed my praise is model of the moment: Cara Delevingne. This lady is fierce and wow, look at her dress. Unlike Sienna Miller who put a studded jacket over a dress, Cara went for it in Burberry and she for me just looks naturally rebellious!
    • Sarah Jessica Parker, step right up! This was one of the most extravagant outfits of the night, a headpiece from Philip Treacy, the widest Giles Deacon dress and thigh high Louboutins! All the pieces by themselves channel punk, the headpiece was shaped like a mohican and the boots were the shiniest tartan. The wardrobe malfunction made it all the more punk!
    • So when I was talking to my mum she said that when she used to go clubbing there was always a girl dressed as a bride and I think Rooney Mara got the message! Not only did she wear a white floor length Givenchy gown but she managed to make it cool not creepy. I think she got the ball and the punk elements perfect!
    • So finally are two women who did things right but the whole look was very wrong: Madonna and Nicole Richie. Both looked strange and kinda scary! However there were some elements of their outfits that were spot on, I mean I loved Nicole's hair and Madonna had elements of genius in the fish nets, the tartan and the pink shoes but she just didn't look good as an outfit. I'm sorry ladies, sack your stylists!!

So this was really late I'm sorry but my exams will soon be over!

    Luv you all,

    LDN Teenage Fashionista xx♥
