I'm Dancing All Night Long: Alexandra Burke to Party Princess ♥

Hey Guys,

I am now in my GCSE Year aaahh! But I need to stay true to my faithful followers, I love you guys ♥

Anyway my latest music to fashion is based on the party tuuuunne All Night Long by Alexandra Burke feat. Pitbull. This song gaurentees to get me dancing and fits the party season perfectly; it also happens to be catchy which helps ☺

So well I bet you have guessed how this fits into fashion: Party Dresses!!!!!!
I love to find an amazing dress that makes me a party girl and I have to say that winter is the time for these.

Fashion is growing up!

Hey guys,

When we were younger, fashion was all about princesses and fairies. We all donned fairy wings and sparkle in order to out-shine our friends (all though with a good nature!) Our fashion idols were Cinderella, Belle and Tinkerbell. Disney Store was our Topshop and wands were our Mulberry Bags. But now this is no more. We have grown out of our dresses and wings and head for the workplace. Be that school or office.

New Season fashion has followed suit (pardon the pun). From pencil skirts to cream blouses, pleats and sharps have been re-invented to sharpen and smarten our dress sense. The greatest designers have made magic on the catwalks and here is the finest. For the best check out the Chanel and Dior goddesses for the best.

But if you are like me and can't afford a £300 skirt/shirt etc. then the British highstreet is giving  as good as it gets.

So fashion has deffinatly grown up although there is nothing like being a princess at heart ♥

You would not believe you eyes if 10 million fireflies lit up the world as I feel asleep ♥

Dear fashionista's,

Owl City made this song famous and for me it's very honest. Not only are the words beautiful and emotion-provoking but the title Fireflies is also significant.

Now where does this link into modern fashion you may ask! Well, there is nothing like images of glowing fireflies against a black background (the song inspired me to draw my own; see below) much alike to the flowing black dresses with luminous patterns walking down the catwalk into the highstreet shops.

Fashion Craze: Psychedelic Fashion!

Hey Guys,

God school is hard at the moment but I needed to post to make sure you all knew I was still here. I have been keeping an eye on the trends and saw something that has really brightened my day. Psychedelic fashion is all about making a bold stance on a plain landscape, clothes in this context.

I have never really been able to pull of bold patterns due to my ultra pale skin but I love looking at the clothes in awe. I've been really inspired and I hope you will be too.

Quick Update!!!!! ☺x

Hey guys,

Quick update as I am currently revising for several exams sooo boring but part of my life as a teenage fashionista!

  • I am working on a photo expo. entitled 'The Price of Beauty' Some of the images have allready been on this blog but I have been working hard since then on some more!
  • My wardrobe is clearer than before, all my winter clothes are now in the loft or in Charity shops and my new summer clothes are filling up the gaps.
  • Playsuits- new fashion love, will soon be the owner of two (one short, one full length) more postings on the TBA x
  • I am in love with old dance movies! Fame,Flashdance etc.. I am watching one everyweek and I have a list of ten I am going to buy ASAP!
  • Sunburn is not fashionable - I went out without sun cream and am now regretting it badly. Be safe in the sun guys!
  • And finally, Lots of love to all the girls out there who love fashion and clothes. I haven't yet said it and feel that an honour should be made to all of us. xxxx

Eurovision Fashion ♥

Hey guys,

Sorry its been a while, exams and school have been taking up my whole life, this will make you laugh though.

The Eurovision final was last night, what a mess for the UK.

So basically if you missed last night you missed quiet a lot. I know Americans aren't actually involved but you should be in my opinion. If you get a second check out the video's on YouTube, you will be laughing for hours.

Friday At last!!!!!!!!! ☺

Hey guys,

Sorry for not updating often enough. School is really tiring at the moment and any free time is for sleep. But I am here now so it's all good.

Little update:
  • Wow Nautical has got really big!! It is everywhere we have all gone Red,White and Blue.
  • French is a la mode! Get an Eiffel Tower vest or a french saying on a tee and the fashion world will commend you! "You, me Oui" tops are cool from River Island.
  • Lush Cosmetics are the best in the world. I have always loved them but they have triumphed yet again. R&B Finishing hair moisturiser is the best thing I have ever owned and a £9.95 per 100g it seems alot but is soo worth it! The smell is fab and it leaves your hair all glossy and smooth!
  • Summer in the UK seems to be taking its time. I am freezing as i write this but the clothes carry on getting lighter and lighter. I recently bought a white vest top from New Look (pics soon) and am still waiting for it to be warm enough to wear it. :(
  • Clogs. There has been alot of debate amongst us bloggers and I would like to add my view to the mix. I will not be wearing clogs this summer. My feet do not look good in them and I have a unknown fear of them. If you want to then feel free but I won't be.
  • Finally, just a note to all women. If you buy new shoes take the labels off the bottom before you wear them out. I always laugh when I see it on the street because it clearly shows the price and size of your shoes and I think its a bit strange.
So there it is my quick update!

The Notebook: My glimpse at pure beauty ♥

Hey guys,

I have just finished reading 'The Notebook' by Nicholas Sparks and it is a piece of writing Genius. They way the story is structured and it's beautiful ending is enough to melt the polar ice caps. It truly inspires long lasting love, even in the face of adversity. What has this got to do with fashion? Well sometimes I look at an outfit (This mainly applies to dresses) and I see the sheer beauty in it. Especially, Haute Couture. I know those dresses are extortionate in price. But just looking at one can take away your breath.

While flicking through the Vanity Fair I came across this editorial where, with Emily Blunt as his muse, Michael Roberts shoots Couture. Everything from Chanel Couture to Dior dresses. For more info see here: Vanity Fair . I recommend you do as it is truly a beautiful piece of art.

Music and Fashion xx

Hey guys,

I am listening to my iPod atm and I love how music and fashion are linked. I noticed I haven't really wrote about it so now I am!!!

I started my morning having a bit of a moment where I listened to the killers non-stop. The music is soo honest and FAB! "Mr Brightside" never fails to get me smiling along side "Read my Mind" and "Bones". These songs always make me want to wear that rock look like Taylor does here.
Taylor Momsen is my new icon for this style and she makes it look effortless and awesome!!!

I am also a massive fan of Old skool classics. Like "Dance the night away" by Mavericks or "Jive Talking" by the Bee Gees. This inspired the fashion world to get up a party the night away. Bee Gees obviously inspired  leg warmers etc. and I hope that the fashion world allows a revival.

Anyway got to dash and finish some homework. I will continue this subject soon! I maybe a fashionista while I write this but my life isn't always glamorous :(

*FASHION UPDATE*
  • Nautical is back and bold-Red,white and blue!
  • Wedges are IN deffinatly: check out Topshop for some pretty ones!
  • Summer is on its way (although it is freezing today): Jumpers and coats are gone and short sleeves are hear to stay!
  • I said in an earlier post that stupidly high heels were on their way out. I always admit when I am wrong but I am not killing myself to wear them. If you are brave then feel free!
  • Vintage is Al a mode! If its old its FAB!
Can't wait for the heat to arrive. I am fed up of being cold :(

Spring time has arrived! And covered us in cherry blossom xx

Hey Guys,

School is manic at the moment and the weather here in the UK is frankly shocking. Although the Spring/Summer season is always here to brighten my day. Now, I am not saying to crack open the shorts and sunnies and chill in your gardens just yet... However, fashion has made allowances for the spring weather and adapted to Perfection.
Easter is a few days away, My hair is turning a brighter shade of blonde and I am feeling chilled looking at Chanel and Dior ♥. But lets turn to the matter at hand: What to wear NOW!

Well basically Spring 2010 is floral and flirty but for the rock chic lovers amongst us - don't panic! The classic Doc Martens are soo in at the moment alongside the festival Boho look is bang on trend.

My Top Tips
  • Shoes: Stay flat, Killer heels are totally out. We ♥ our feet!
  • Tee's: Should have florals and length or short tee's with slogans and positivity.
  • Jeans and Leggings: Its spring people! Ditch black leggings for patterned ones or denim ones. Jeans themselves should be pale blues or greys - bright pinks etc. only if accompanied well otherwise steer clear!
  • Bags: Pouch bags are about! Keep it practically though girls. Mini clutches are no more!!!!

Sorry Its been a while!

Hey guys,

I can only apologise for being really late in updating this blog! I have had lots of illness recently and spent a lot of last week in bed. However, now I have some minutes free I can update this blog. So a little summary:
  • Alexander McQueen's last show took place in France this week. Apparently he was 80% of the way through completing this show at the time of his death. It was a fitting tribute to an icon. The dresses were stunning and very vintage. Definitely bang on trend!
  • Fashion weeks globally are ending. What a shame but now we can go and buy all the latest trends when they filter down into the shops! YAY =>
  • The Oscars happened. Lots of blogs about them. My highlights - Diane Kruger, Miley Cyrus and Penelope Cruz all dressed amazingly. Couture and a Oscar always looks good.
  • Alice in Wonderland has taken over. Any Jewellery must be vintage and eccentric

Now fully recovered I have been going shopping and this is my latest buy >>>
It is from H&M and cost £20. I love it because its quirky with that punk studded look that is on everything now from Fiorelli Bags to Rihanna's Gloves. It's grey which is a staple colour for any girls wardrobe and will go with most colours! I will team it with a tee from my extensive collection and my grey skinny flares for the classic rock chic look we all love!

My Camden Day!


Hey guys,

Today I had the most fun looking a cute and fabulous jewellery in one of the world's most famous markets! I must say the selection was vast and it was hard to pick but I managed as you can tell by my enthusiastic writing! I love it there so much and this imaginative style of Jewellery is really popular at the moment so I needed to fit in!


I also went to Accessorize! The best shop on the high street for cute things! It is not very expensive and has huge ranges to accommodate all accessories needs! Mr Dior recommends only sticking to two colours per outfit but if you are feeling brave then go bold! No one will stop you!

Oooh before I go my top tip for accessories at the moment: Cameo Necklaces I own two the blue one is below and I own a pink one too. Massive trend, easy to wear!

Profile: Diane Von Furstenberg

Hey Guys,

This post was a request by my mother, a profile on the incredible designer Diane Von Furstenberg. Back in 1972 she shook the fashion world with her iconic wrap dress and now she lives on with cool classy collections that make the whole fashion world smile.
Originally born in Brussels, she moved to New York in 2001 and by 2002 was an American citizen. A re-launch of her wrap dress came after a break from fashion. Diane then returned back to the fashion scene with a bang. The fall 2010 season has been rocking the catwalk with an elegant mix of edgy and feminine looks that really give women the right looks to aim for! She really knows how to dress a woman and I love her clothes.

The little dictionary of fashion by Christian Dior: My bible

Hey guys,

I am not religious, but this little book I acquired while at the V&A Museum in London, has now become my Bible. Mr Dior wrote this book himself in 1954 and it is frankly amazing. The way he styles women is astonishing and in no way offensive or downgrading. In fact he almost lifts women up to their higher place as goddesses, instead of the lower class view of some people that put women down. He certainly wasn't one of the many who had those views and was an incredible designer of quality that simply not many could ever dream of... (apart from Coco Chanel but that's only my opinion)

In the book, it is a simple A-Z of all things women need to know on how to dress, right down to there cut and colour. I love his simplistic ideas and views, that would look so chic on anyone. For instance he says about Accessories:
"You must choose a colour that will match many clothes in your wardrobe. Unless you have a lot of money it is wiser to choose black, navy or brown for your accessories rather than a bright red or green. It is a question of care and taste."

He is an icon and I will treasure his book all my life! I hope you have been inspired because I assure you I have.

Converse: Shoe Heaven!!

Hey guys,


This post is dedicated to the shoes I wear most: Converse. The simple trainer that has been changing lives since 1908 with the company still booming and moulding to new trends, while keeping the simple High-Top as centre stage. I have two pairs myself, One red High-Top and one black ankle length pair but both keeping the immortal white sole. In 1913, Converse produced a catalogue with the following words: “Our company was organized in 1908 fully believing that there was an earnest demand from the retail shoe dealer for a rubber shoe company that would be independent enough not to follow every other company in every thing they do.” Those words would go down in history Always a brand for those independent enough not to follow, the young company would befriend a young sport: Basketball. And now 102 years later we still wear them!

I really don't need to say anything else apart from I love you Converse!!!!!!!

R.I.P Alexander McQueen

Ok while posting about fashion I feel I need to dedicate a post to the late great Alexander McQueen. He died on Thursday the 11th February at the age of 40 and is a legend in British fashion history. He came up with the weird and the wacky, alongside skinny jeans and leggings which have become normal. His fashion shows, more recently in Paris but also in the U.K showed his designer flare to its best with him being creative and fabulous at the same time. He has dressed Beyoncé and Lady Gaga just to name a few. One of his dresses sits amongst other amazing dresses at the V&A and the whole fashion world mourns him.

So I just wanted to say Thank You Alexander for inspiring us all to fall in love with fashion, especially me.

Blazers. We have all seen them and loved them but this is a trend that will never die with new cuts and styles being shown all the time. From Chanel and the designers to the River Island high street chic we all know and love. But you have to find your style because there is not only one cut of blazer. From Destressed Casual to Military Scene. Blazers have a place in our world for many years to come!

chillin' I never chill when there is fashion to be seen!

Hey guys,

While hanging with my friend today (she will remain unnamed) we discussed the use of leggings in fashion! Now these are bang on trend for that spring look. You can keep warm while looking stunning! I prefer a denim look but black leggings are a staple item every girl should own! Rock these with over size tees and high heels or converse for an easy switch between night time and day wear!

Well I am going to go and look at some hot new trends and I will report back tomorrow!

While browsing the malls in Canary Warf today, admiring the new flirty fashions at Topshop and the rough edgy look i love in River Island, I noticed a new opening in the shape of a LEVI store. Now you can always rely on Levi for a good pair of jeans but they also stock affordable and fabulous tees and check shirts that really rock! If you want that easy, chic day look that is the place to head!!!

Ok first post scary stuff!

Hey guys,

I am an ordinary girl from London who has a big dream! I want to be a barrister in the future but right now i am loving the fashion culture that London gives me! With the BRITS blaring out from my TV and my cute Hamster chewing her tube behind me, this is what i call home, However, when i am out and about fashion is always on my mind. I buy at least 6 magazines a month and love reading about new fashions, but while at the V&A museum in London today i learnt that the vintage side of fashion is so much more inspiring and really affects the clothes i wear today!

In this blog i will talk about designer brands because they give us the trends but as i said, i am just an ordinary girl who has never spent more than £50 on one item of clothing!

I hope you enjoy learning about how i see fashion and learn something new!
