Summer lovin' style must-haves!

Hey all,

I am sitting in my mums comfy recliner chair looking out the window at the lovely sunshine beaming down onto my front lawn.

[update: it is actually pouring down with rain now but it was sunny when I started this post and can't bare to not be nostalgic for the summer sun which has abandoned us for the time being.]

I know many of you are already enjoying your summer wardrobe (I am certainly), I thought I would write a post of my top 5 summer must have staples in my collection:

1. Espadrilles - for those of you who have been following my blog for a few years, you will know my love for the comfy summer shoes and this year it's no different. I have bought a new pair this year which are sparkly! I love them so much and they go with everything.

2. Soft beach trousers - I bought my first pair after suffering bad sunburn on my legs last holiday and they are blue with floral pattern which are so comfy. I am very pleased that there are loads on the high street. I bought the black floral patterned pair (see below) recently from Peacocks. (I want some of the ones from Next too but I can't decide on a colour)

3. Pale tights - if you are a bit worried of scars or discolouration on your legs but do want to get some sun and wear a dress - then tights are a very good way to show them off while disquising anything. I wear Marks and Spencer as they are very thin yet you can get a variation of shades, you can even get a Natural Tan without sun-worshipping.

4. Anything gold - It is my summer colour and I love gold eyeshadow, lip gloss, nails. I also love it in my shoes and I bought my staple gold sandals from Red Herring at Debenhams in the sale! Result!

5. A cover up - anything from a kimono to a cardi, this year there are plenty on the high street and I love this one from Tokyo Doll at New Look and Primark have a few good ones. Basically it's a way to smart up a casual outfit without over-heating in a cardigan/blazer/jacket.

So here is my top 5 summer wardrobe staples. Maybe I will do some outfit of the day posts soon so you can see how I wear them. If you'd like that drop me a comment below or on my social media networks.

Sorry for this post taking me so long, I got caught up in prom and pre-birthday celebrations all last week but I am back now.

Let your wild side out...

Hey guys,

I posted a teaser pic from this post over a week ago and for some unknown reason it has taken me a while to post it. Sorry!!!

Anyway this post features three of my birthday presents; my yellow camouflage scarf, my Marilyn Monroe handbag and my grey leopard tee in my outfit, as well as my beloved snake skin effect sandals from Clarks and my green shorts from New Look. Hence the name for this post is let your wild side out due to its safari style.

This is me in my outfit:

N.B that I am also wearing my mums vintage bangles that you'll see close up below as well as the other accessories,

So when I was dressed, I headed onto Oxford Street to meet my friend Marie for a catch up and a light shop in the summer sales - can you believe you can buy winter jumpers already! It's not even stopped being sunny yet!

Being a light shop I didn't splurge but I did buy this dress from Bershka for £20 which is beautiful and I can't wait to wear it!

So I hope you're all having a good summer wherever you are, thanks to all of you for reading and liking this page, I really love you all!

Fashion in Film - Confessions of a Shopaholic...

Hey guys,

Firstly a big thank you to all you guys for reading this blog when I post, it means a lot to me and if you want me to write about anything in particular let me know anyway you like, also if you would like to follow me in another way that I currently don't offer, just ask!

So back to this post, I have this and three more fashion in film posts on there way and today's is about the best-selling book turned film, Confessions of a Shopaholic. Although the film is an adaptation of the book, it is actually a really funny, girly film and with the mandatory man candy of Luke, played by the handsome Hugh Dancy, thrown in for good measure. My favourite quote from the film is when Becky, played by Isla Fisher, takes Luke shopping thinking he knows nothing and then is surprised to find that he "speaks Prada" despite an apparent dreadful taste in clothes.

Back to the clothes, well of course Becky herself has many, including some highlights that I will show in the images below, but then of course comes the green scarf. The green scarf is important because it ties Becky to Luke and Becky to giving up her shopping addiction! In actual fact the scarf is very on trend with the jewel green colour that would go with everything!

So here it is to the shopaholics out there,

Speak soon guys,

Luv u all,

Beanies and other things...

Hey guys,

This post is driven by my recent trip to Canary Wharf which is one of my favourite places in London as business and culture mix amongst the skyscrapers.

Recently trends in fashion have taken an urban vibe and cities are proving a massive influence on the art of fashion. Styles of hoodies and cropped tees with logos on have filled the high street, bold leggings have reappeared and high tops with matching beanies and baseball caps.

At first I never thought this trend would suit me, but there are ways to incorporate it into your own style, I manage it by pairing slouchy jumpers with jeans but maybe I will end up rocking a beanie one day!
This is my 99th post so next one will be my centenary so I am planning something exceptional for that but please message me if you want anything special mentioned!
I want to also say thank you to all who look at my blog and read it every time I post, I love you all!
Lots of luv,

Being Nerdy

Hey guys,

So I promised you a post and therefore I will deliver. This time however the post is all about geekyness! (Which I think is quite fashionable but hey I am biased)

Basically in physics yesterday we were discussing this important equation in quantum theory that involved a guy called Max Planck and his constant for energy - called Planck's Constant lol! And as we were discussing the photoelectric effect which was Einstein's idea I was confused - I was thinking that maybe the credit should of been given to Einstein if it was a huge part of his theory.

And the reason that this is linked to fashion is because who gets credit for new trends. Is the person who walks the clothes down the run way responsible for the next seasons trend, or was it the unknown person who strolled past them sitting in a coffee shop and that had planned their outfit in order to express themselves, therefore in that single act inspired that designer to put pen to paper and stitch to garment. If it was therefore down to them, they were the catalyst that subsequently caused thousands of fashionistas to moon over their outfits and replicate it, without anyone knowing their names.

It's interesting that someone unknown can have the power to do that - at least Planck and Einstein were well rewarded for their science contribution with Nobel Prizes. It ended up that time was the true decider of the credit in the case of the constant, because Planck was first to think quantum he got the name of the father of quantum physics. In the same way Coco Chanel gets the credit for making the sun tan popular although I'm sure that getting a sun tan was not her invention.

Finally as you may of guessed I am quiet geeky so here are two pieces of my wardrobe that match this theme and also carry an image of one of my loves, Hello Kitty:

Creating my own style, one shopping trip at a time!

Hey guys,

So on Monday I went shopping and bought some new stuff that I would like to share with you guys!

So my new style direction is a mash up of rock chic, distressed denim, and Militarian yet I add bits of girly in for good measure and I believe it is quiet unique.

This style direction influenced these purchases, the first being a Cinderella tee from Uniqlo that will break the toughness created by my new grey jeans from Forever 21.

Also I bought a camouflage jacket that has been embellished on the collar. This is again from Forever 21 and I was attracted to it because it meant I could wear a print I love in another way to just on my jeans that I have been wearing a lot! Also it makes my mum happy by me going out wearing a jacket and keeping warm!

Finally, I bought two necklaces also from Forever 21. (Sorry if it seems overkill but it is my favourite shop and the prices are very reasonable so I go there a lot!)

Back to the necklaces, well I do have a lot of jewellery so I have to be regimented about what I buy so I don't double up but with this silver Dream necklace and this cascade of flowers I have managed to buy two statement pieces, the silver one which is best for layering necklaces and the flowers for making a bold sparkly gesture to an outfit - all for just over a tenner!

I will post as much as I can this Easter but I am revising for my AS exams so it's tough to keep up!

Keep in touch, comment/tweet/message me on IFB and I will reply as soon as possible!

Luv as always,

The Need List: Updated

Hey guys,

I am terrible at shopping, I make a plan and then end up getting distracted by t-shirts or jewellery (just ask my best friend!) and so my wardrobe grows kinda awkwardly.

At the moment I am on a bit of a health drive and am getting slimmer which is very exciting but I will need to replace some key items soon or I won't be able to go anywhere! So I decided if I made my list public it may stick out at bit more and I will be less likely to ignore it.

Here it goes:

1. I will soon need new jeans however most girls will sympathise that getting new jeans is the most difficult task you can face (does my bum look big in these? Etc.) So I am planning to put this off until its crucial, also I love my jeans so am a bit sad about replacing them.

2. I need a new bag. My parents have been harping on at me to get a back pack for school as I do carry a lot of weight on my shoulders so here begins my search for the perfect one.

3. I would love some outfit variants, I want to take risks this season so need some extra pieces to help with that, in tones of grey to light blue.

4. I need new shoes, the situation is dire. I'm serious; wearing converse is great but they simply don't go with everything. I need pumps and a nice pair of black low court shoes I think.

This concludes my post of my needs in fashion,

Hope you enjoyed it!

Lots of luv,

New trends, keeping them checked!

Hey guys,

The sun has decided to grace us with its presence today in London - I am still wearing a cardi as the wind is chilly but the gloves have gone at last!

I'm just off to the high street to get some clothes for work experience next week! I've got minimal make up on and am wearing a smile - it's amazing what the vitamin D in the sunshine can do to a person.

So I have been taking a couple of days R&R as per my head of college's advice and so have been flicking through the fashion magazines. Within the pages I see a very interesting time ahead for fashion (metallics at Burberry and check board patterns at Louis Vuitton are just two standouts) which will certainly shake things up and spring us into action.

My question is how well these trends will enter the high street? Sport luxe is still the measure of how well the designers can achieve a catwalk trend and even then only a few stores have got it spot on.

It is very hard for instance, to wear an entire brown checkered dress unless you are a model or a shiny mac unless you are a mini Beckham. I have a terrible fear that a highly radical set of trends will look awkward against the safe pastels and nautical looks that traditionally live on the high street in Spring/Summer.

So here's to hoping for success and a shake up around here, because blimey do we need it!

Lots of luv,

Summer Lovin'.....

Hey Guys and Dolls,

So I recently went on holiday to Greece and I stayed in a place called Tolo on the Peloponnese. I did much tanning and swimming, met some lovely people whom I plan to keep in contact with forever and yes I shopped!

While the majority of my holiday was spent enjoying a cool beverage/ ice cream by the pool or on the beach I did manage to get quiet a lot of shopping done actually and hit some major trend branches on my way.

Firstly I went on a short jewellery craze. I bought two necklaces from a company called Fly (fairy one and the hello kitty one) - they are going to look so kitsch and cute I cannot wait to wear them. I also bought an E=mc² bracelet - It's very special equation for me, not only was it thought of by one of my hero's Einstein but also because in my very first Chemistry lesson of Secondary School I said it and everyone looked at me and thought I was a geek, well guys I am, deal with it. I then bought a Juicy Couture Charm for my bracelet in Hydra (a Greek island) of flowers in a basket as it was both summery and seriously awesome - although it will weigh a lot lol! Finally I bought a Aphrodite charm for a necklace. As some of you know I write an advice blog called Dear Aphrodite (http://dearaphrodite.blogspot.com/) and think I am the most like her out of the 12 other Greek Gods. It was made by an amazing silversmith in Tolo and it will always remind me of my holiday.

I also bought several bags. The two pictured are a hello kitty backpack - I am the hello kitty child, it sooo cute I couldn't resist and a floral print bag from Tally Weijl which is both beach chic but will carry me through to autumn as well.

Finally to hit a massive trend is a little pattern that has splashed across the catwalks and filtered to the high street - Stars by Dolce and Gabbana. Now as my allowance like many teenagers will not stretch to D&G, I was lucky to of come across my own take on the trend in a scarf/sarong. This was found in a shop called Jasmine in Hydra and it was one of many beautiful objects in the shop. It was so hard to choose but I am so lucky to of found such a A/W 2011 staple. Here it is:

So thanks for allowing me to take you guys through my summer holiday purchases,

Stay true to your own style,

When you wish on your birthday....

Hey Guys,

Last Friday was my birthday yay! I am still a teenager but just a year older! I got some super cool birthday gifts and some of them were so fashionable it's incredible. I got this amazing silk scarf dress (see below) It's so flattering for summer and such a cool print in a bright colour I love it.

I also got bought several bags - a pink mini clutch and the massive handmade satchel you can see in the picture. I cannot say how much I love it and its size. So on trend too as I saw Agyness Deyn (possibly the biggest trendsetter ever) with a bright green one. I went for one more my style and vintage from zatchels.com.

I also got a Betsey Johnson necklace to add to my large accessories collection. Its a mouse as that's a nickname my mum gave me from a young age. It is so cute in a vintage style and I have already worn it several times.

I got several other presents of sentimental value and that I honestly love and cannot wait to wear/enjoy and can safely say this birthday was one of the best I have ever had. With my best friends I went to Lush and had a fabulous party there with lots of cake and bubbles (not a usual mix) and I have to give credit to the guys at Lush Romford for truly being amazing and honouring me with a LUSH Legends box as a gift. I now own a good proportion of their shop and will always be a loyal customer of theirs. Trust me guys, if you want a good shopping experience and have your life changed, these guys are the people to see.

Also I wanted to share a present I got from my girls ellie and baylee. I think it says everything.

Finally Happy Birthday Me!

Lots of love guys,
Keep wishing,

Yesterday I climbed several mountains....

Hey guys,

Sorry for being A.W.O.L recently I have been swamped with issues bigger than myself and it has taken until this break in my revision schedule to write this blog but here I am ☺

So yesterday was very important for me, It was the first time I had worn wedges and the first time I had worn heels to anywhere that required a journey on public transport. And it was a success ☺ only 3 stumbles in all, none of them fatal and only one blister which for me is pretty amazing.

In fashion wise I had style. I wore my wedges (see pic) with a vintage dress, grey cardigan and brown shoulder bag - whole outfit was around the £50 mark which is reasonable. Yet I fitted in with the Chanel clutching, Prada shoes wearing women that dominate Canary Wharf fashion. All the women that work there strut amongst the skyline with an air of fabulousness not seen anywhere else, the pride they take in their work is just a visible as the pride with which they wear their clothes. I am honestly proud to know just some of the women that work in that amazing place and will go up their at the flick of a switch just to breathe the air.

The place proves that London really is amazing,

My Camden Day!

Hey guys,

Today I had the most fun looking a cute and fabulous jewellery in one of the world's most famous markets! I must say the selection was vast and it was hard to pick but I managed as you can tell by my enthusiastic writing! I love it there so much and this imaginative style of Jewellery is really popular at the moment so I needed to fit in!

I also went to Accessorize! The best shop on the high street for cute things! It is not very expensive and has huge ranges to accommodate all accessories needs! Mr Dior recommends only sticking to two colours per outfit but if you are feeling brave then go bold! No one will stop you!

Oooh before I go my top tip for accessories at the moment: Cameo Necklaces I own two the blue one is below and I own a pink one too. Massive trend, easy to wear!
